At Ten Lives Cat Rescue, we believe that every cat, whether a playful kitten, a long-term foster, or a senior with special medical needs, deserves a safe, loving home. Throughout May 2025, our team and community came together to make a great difference for cats in need.

26 Adoptions, 26 New Beginnings
This May, 26 cats and kittens moved on to the next chapter of their lives throughout Rhode Island and beyond. But the numbers only tell part of the story. Behind each adoption is a journey of resilience, recovery, and connection:
- Three cats had been in our care for over 300 days, each one waiting patiently for someone to see their worth.
- Two others were with us for over 100 days, often passed over until the right person came along.
- Two bonded pairs were adopted together, ensuring they could continue life side-by-side.
- Two cats living with FIV found homes with people who understood their needs and welcomed them without hesitation.
- One cat received specialized medical treatment through our Lazzy Fund, which supports cats with complex health issues.
- One more transitioned from our Forgotten Feline Program, leaving behind the uncertainty of street life for the comfort and consistency of a home.
Each of these milestones represents more than just an adoption, it’s the result of time, care, and a community that believes in giving cats a second chance.
Stories That Stay With Us
Cats like Scrimmage remind us of the impact that care and patience can have. She came to us after years of living outdoors, with dental disease, fleas, and other medical challenges. Slowly, with medical treatment and a nurturing foster home, she began to heal. And in May, Scrimmage finally found the safety and love she had long been without.

Then there’s Ryan Zane, a younger community cat who arrived with a roundworm infection and little understanding of indoor life. Thanks to a stable foster environment, he quickly adjusted, his playful, curious personality blossoming as he discovered what it meant to feel secure. Ryan Zane is now thriving and last month he entered into his next chapter.

These stories illustrate the variety of circumstances our cats come from, and how essential it is to meet them where they are, whether they’re weary from years on the street or just beginning their journey.
How We Make It Happen
The work we do involves much more than adoptions. In May, support from our community helped us:
- Cover medical care for sick, injured, and aging cats
- Provide food and medication for cats in foster care
- Transition outdoor cats into safe, loving indoor homes
- Offer support and education to foster families and adopters
Looking Ahead
As the summer season ramps up, so will the needs of our rescue. We’re preparing for the months ahead by focusing on medical care, fostering support, and making every adoption count. With your continued partnership, we’re confident we’ll meet the challenges ahead, together.
Thank You
