Spay it Forward
In April, we launched our Spay it Forward campaign in response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. We asked our community to join our efforts to spay or neuter cats in our community by donating $25. How did it work?
- You donated $25
- Ten Lives matched your $25 donation
- An anonymous donor matched your $25 donation
Together, we spayed it forward and prevented the suffering of countless generations of cats in our community by raising over $6,000!
Because of the tremendous success of our Spay it Forward campaign, we are now launching a spay-neuter voucher program to help our community members! How will it work?
Thanks to a grant from the Rhode Island Foundation and generous donors like you, cat owners in our community can obtain a voucher for spay or neuter and vaccination services for just $25! How will it work?
- The recipient pays $25
- You donate $25
- The Rhode Island Foundation donates $25
Together, we are Spaying it Forward and ensuring that finances are not a barrier to critical spay and neuter services!
Why is this program critically important for our community?
Every year, an estimated 1.5 million cats are euthanized due to lack of space at local shelters. That is nearly 50% of the cats that enter the shelter system. With the number of homeless cats in the United States and the rate of reproduction, there is simply not enough resources to safely house and care for the number of cats that shelters receive on a yearly basis.
What is the best way to end the needless suffering and reduce the homeless cat population? Spay & neuter!
